No Charge for the Seat Your Kid Needs.

If you are traveling to Vail with kids, you should not have to pay extra for a car seat. We do not charge for them. We never have. Not for an infant carrier, not for a high-back booster, not for one and not for four.

A lot of services in this valley nickel-and-dime you on this, $15 a seat, $25 a seat, sometimes more for a premium model. We do not see it that way. You are already paying for transportation. The seat your kid needs to ride safely should not be a line item, and it should not be optional.

We carry every type of child seat made. Whatever your family needs, we have it ready when we pick you up.

What We Carry

Every Type of Child Seat Made.

Rear-Facing Infant Seats

For newborns through about 22 pounds. The seat clicks into a base and faces the back of the vehicle, the way every infant should ride.

Toddler & Convertible Seats

For kids roughly 1 to 3 years old, or up to about 40 pounds. These ride rear-facing or forward-facing depending on the child's size and your preference.

High-Back Boosters

For kids 4 to 7 years old, roughly 40 to 80 pounds. Side-impact protection plus a proper booster, what most parents want for younger kids.

Backless Boosters

For older kids who have outgrown the high-back but still need the lift to fit a regular seat belt safely. Roughly 60 pounds and up.

If your family has four kids in three different age groups, we will have the right seats ready. If you have a Sprinter full of cousins, we will handle that too.

Colorado Car Seat Law

The Same Law Applies to Us.

Colorado law requires:

  • Infants under 1 year or under 20 pounds: rear-facing.
  • Children 1 to 3 years or 20 to 40 pounds: forward-facing in a harnessed seat.
  • Children 4 to 7 years or 40 to 80 pounds: booster seat.
  • Children 8 and up: a regular seat belt is fine.

The same law applies to limousines, shuttles, and car services as it does to private vehicles. If a transportation company tells you your kid can sit on your lap, or that they do not bother with seats for short rides, that is against the law. It is also not safe.

We follow the law. We have the seats. They are installed properly when you arrive.

How It Works

Tell Us How Many, Roughly How Old.

When you book a ride, tell us how many kids are coming and roughly how old each one is. That is all we need. Approximate ages are fine, we will bring the right seats.

If your kid is right on a borderline, say 38 pounds, between a toddler seat and a booster, let us know. We will bring both options and use whichever fits better.

You can mention seats when you book online, or just text George or Kyla directly. We do this every week. There is nothing unusual about it.

What It Costs

Nothing. Not One Penny.

We do not charge for car seats. Not for one, not for four. Not for an infant carrier, not for a booster. Not for the seat, not for installation, not for cleaning between rides.

The price you are quoted for your trip is the price you pay. No line items for the things kids need to ride safely.

The seat is part of the ride. Without it, the ride does not happen, or it happens unsafely.

A parent traveling with a kid should not have to do mental math about whether to upgrade to the family seat package. So we do not offer one. We just bring the seats.

For Parents

Vail Car Service With Car Seats: What Parents Need to Know.

Searching for a Vail car service with car seats? Most parents flying into Denver International Airport (DEN) or Eagle County Airport (EGE) on the way to a ski vacation face the same question: travel with your own car seats and check them as luggage, or count on the transportation company to provide them.

A real family-owned service. Vail Powder Cars has been family-owned and operated in the Vail Valley since 2015. We drive families with kids almost every day in ski season, and every vehicle in our fleet carries the full range of child seats, rear-facing infant, forward-facing toddler, high-back booster, and backless booster, at no additional charge.

Why we do not charge for car seats. A car seat is not an upgrade. It is the law, and it is basic safety. We have never charged extra for one, and we never will. When you book a private SUV or Sprinter with us, the seat your child needs is included in the ride.

How many seats we can fit. Our Chevrolet Suburbans carry up to four child seats at once while still seating the parents comfortably. Our Mercedes Sprinter vans carry significantly more, ideal for multi-family ski trips, extended family vacations, or large group transfers from DEN or EGE to Vail, Beaver Creek, or Aspen.

You do not need to bring your own. You can if you want, but most parents prefer not to lug car seats through baggage claim on top of ski gear and luggage. With us you do not have to. The seats are clean, properly rated, and installed correctly when we pick you up.
