Vail to
Eagle Airport.
40 Minutes.
The easiest way out of the valley. We pick you up at your door and head down-valley to EGE, about forty minutes on I-70 West, no passes, no tunnel, no two-hour haul to Denver. We time it to your flight so the last morning stays relaxed.
The Closest Airport
to the Mountain.
The Easy Way Out.
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) sits just 35 miles west of Vail at an elevation of 6,548 feet. It's the closest commercial airport to the Vail Valley, and the ride down from your hotel or condo takes roughly 40 minutes on I-70 West. No mountain passes. No tunnels. No two-hour slog toward Denver on the last morning of your trip.
American Airlines and United Airlines fly out of EGE with direct routes to major hubs including Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Newark, Los Angeles, and Miami. During ski season (mid-December through early April), the schedule expands with additional nonstops that make EGE the smartest way home.
For our family, EGE is the home airport, we live 20 minutes away. We track your flight, plan your pickup around it, and have you at the terminal with comfortable time to spare. There's no dispatch center and no algorithm deciding who drives you. When you book with us, you know exactly who's behind the wheel.

Why Fly Out of EGE?
Flying out of Eagle cuts your ground transfer from two-plus hours down to about forty minutes, and skips every mountain pass on I-70. DIA has more flights and often lower fares, but it's a 120-mile mountain drive. We run both, and we'll tell you which makes sense for your trip home.
Vail to Gypsum.
A Tour Down the Valley.
When it's time to head home, we pick you up right at your door in Vail and point the car west, down-valley on I-70 toward Eagle County Airport. It's the easy way out: about forty minutes, a gentle descending grade, no Vail Pass, no tunnel, no two-hour haul. EGE is small and close, so the morning stays calm.
From Vail you'll drop past the West Vail exit, that's our own neighborhood, and through Eagle-Vail, where there's a public golf course right off the highway. Then comes the Avon exit for Beaver Creek, with Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead tucked into the mountainside above.
Rolling into Edwards, Cordillera spreads across the hills to the north, a gated community with a handful of championship courses, a Tom Fazio down low plus the Jack Nicklaus Summit and Hale Irwin Mountain courses up top. George helped build one of the clubhouses up there years ago. Past the Singletree neighborhood and Battle Mountain High School, just after the Edwards exit, is the Eaton Ranch, the family name of Earl Eaton, the prospector who found Vail Mountain in 1957 and co-founded the resort with Pete Seibert. If you've skied Blue Sky Basin, Earl's Bowl is named for him.
At Wolcott the golf gets serious, Red Sky Ranch off to the south with its Tom Fazio and Greg Norman courses, the ultra-private Eagle Springs up on the north side, and Highway 131 branches off north toward Steamboat Springs. A few miles on, the historic Diamond Star Ranch, a 10,500-acre cattle-and-horse ranch worked since the 1890s, spreads across the hills south of the highway above Brush Creek. Then it's through the Town of Eagle, down into Gypsum, and we pull right up to the terminal, just west of the Costco. George & Kyla

A Bit of Vail History
Earl Eaton, an Eagle-area prospector, climbed the ridge above Gore Creek in 1957, saw the back bowls, and brought Pete Seibert up to look. Vail opened in 1962. When Blue Sky Basin opened in 2000, the two new bowls were named Pete's Bowl and Earl's Bowl, after the men who found and built the mountain.

Vail to EGE
Questions,
Direct Answers.
How far is Eagle County Airport (EGE) from Vail?
EGE sits about 35 miles west of Vail at 6,548 feet, down in Gypsum. It's the closest commercial airport to the Vail Valley, roughly 40 minutes door-to-door on I-70 West, with no mountain passes or tunnels.
How early should I leave Vail for an EGE flight?
EGE is close and the terminal is small, so departure mornings are far easier than flying out of Denver. For EGE flights we usually pick you up in Vail about 2 hours before departure, roughly a 40-minute drive, leaving comfortable time to check in, with extra buffer on busy ski-season weekends. Kyla tracks your flight in case anything changes.
How long does the drive from Vail to EGE take?
About 40 minutes in normal conditions. It's a gentle down-valley descent on I-70 West, no Vail Pass, no Eisenhower Tunnel, so it's far quicker and calmer than the ~2-hour drive to Denver.
Which airlines fly out of EGE?
American and United fly out of EGE direct to hubs including Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Newark, Los Angeles, and Miami. Ski season (mid-December through early April) adds more nonstop routes.
Should I fly out of Eagle (EGE) or Denver (DIA)?
Both work, and we serve both. EGE is far closer, about 40 minutes with no passes, versus a 120-mile, 2-hour-plus drive to Denver. DIA has more flights and often lower fares, but a much longer mountain drive home.
How much is a car from Vail to EGE?
Flat rate of $290 for an SUV (up to 6) and $430 for a Sprinter van (up to 14). Rates include gratuity, fuel, and all fees, no surge pricing. A $100 surcharge applies to pickups between 10 PM and 7 AM.
Can you pick us up in Beaver Creek or Bachelor Gulch?
Absolutely. We pick up across the whole valley, Vail Village, Lionshead, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead, Avon, Edwards, Eagle-Vail, and Minturn. Call for a flat quote from your address.
Will my skis and luggage fit?
Every time. Our Suburbans and Sprinter vans handle skis, snowboards, boot bags, and full luggage, loaded at your door. You don't lift a thing.
